Live updates: Trump heads back to DC

President Trump opened in a new golf course in Scotland on Tuesday morning before heading back to Washington.

Trump told those gathered at his course in Aberdeen that he would return to D.C. to "put out fires all over the world." In addition to a blitz of economic news, Trump is handling wars in the Middle East and between Russia and Ukraine; ceasefires have become out of reach in both situations. The push to help the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is also gaining momentum.

Trump heads home to face four days of economic reports, meetings and potential trade deals. White House trade talks are intensifying ahead of a Friday deadline for “reciprocal” tariffs, and there will be a Wednesday decision on interest rates from the Federal Reserve.

The Justice Department late Monday raised tensions a notch in filing a formal complaint against U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, accusing him of misconduct and demanding that he be removed from a high-profile deportation case and face reprimand. It's tied to comments Boasberg reportedly made to fellow judges at a March 11 meeting of the Judicial Conference.

The Jeffrey Epstein saga also continues to dominate. Epstein's accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell has appealed her conviction to the Supreme Court, and Maxwell's attorney has appealed to Trump for a pardon. Trump pushed back on reports that he had a closer than previously known relationship with Epstein.
